As a regular drill it's just the ticket for mixing mortar or grout. Be careful.
The only thing that looked refurbished was the "Refurbished" sticker on the very sturdy case. This was supposed to be a refurbished item.
I did a number of 5/8" holes (the max capacity as a hammer drill) and it never slowed down. I am partial to Milwaukee tools so I may be biased.
As a hammer drill for drilling concrete this is all you will need. I hit a really hard piece of aggregate and the drill never slowed down but it did get snatched from my hands by the torque.
The average homeowner will never need another.
This is a monster drill-driver, and the one I received looked brand new. No scratches, scuffs, scrapes, paint, marks, or damage in any way. Case was like new too. A great buy, and makes me a real believer in buying reconditioned tools from Milwaukee.
I have not worked it to its full potential but I think it will do just fine. The drill arrived in a short time after order was placed and I was amazed when I opened it up. Fabulous buy to say the least. I debated about ordering a reconditioned tool, but if this is an indication of what I can expect, there will not be reservations on my part to ordering again. It has a few abrasions here and there, but otherwise looks and runs like a new drill. The carrying case appeared to be new also. AN EXCELLENT BUY to say the least. They failed to send an Email or call me back when promised. I received my hammer-drill promptly but w/o a side handle. I had to call several times to get a resolution only to then get a back order notice w/o an ETA. It has now been 1 month since receiving the drill but still no side handle. I know the product is good but customer service is not good.Jim Godfrey 435.628.8583
In addition, the hammering mechanism is ultra smooth. $150 or $180. I purchased this drill (new) a couple years ago from a large retailer that had it on clearance at the time; the regular price was approx. unlike my other B&D hammer drill. One of the first things I noticed about the drill was that it was made in Germany and that it appeared and felt very high quality. Even the cord and chuck key were of the highest quality I've seen on any drill. In addition, this drill cuts through cinder block like the proverbial knife through butter. It's a great hammer drill and a very good value at this price.
